Richard
C. Larson, Professor of Civil and
Environmental Engineering (CEE)
and Engineering Systems, has won election
to President-Elect 2004 for the Institute
for Operations Research and the Management
Sciences (INFORMS).
INFORMS is the world’s largest

the first year as President-Elect,
the second as President, and the third
as Immediate Past-President. The appointment
is effective as of January, 2004.
“I
am hoping that this professional engagement
will be synergistic with initiatives
and priorities of CEE and the Engineering
Systems Division (ESD),” said
Larson, who holds a dual appointment
with CEE and ESD.
ESD
Co-director Prof. Daniel Hastings
said “This honor for Dick Larson
is an indication of the outstanding
faculty we have in ESD.”
