Chad
Galts, former Director of Communications
in the Graduate School
at Brown University, recently began
work as Director of Communications
at MIT's
School of Engineering. He succeeds
Catherine Avril, the first
person to hold the senior communications
position at SoE, and a former

Systems Division's Lean
Aircraft Initiative (LAI).
During
his tenure at Brown, Chad launched
a new website for the
Graduate School, revamped its publications,
and helped develop a
university-wide database of faculty
researchers. He also coordinated
Brown's preparations for the National
Research Council's survey of
research and doctoral programs.
Previously,
Chad worked at ConnectEdu and was
Senior Editor of the
Brown University alumni magazine.
He holds degrees from the University

ESD
welcomes Chad to MIT, and looks forward
to future collaborations
with him on communications projects
and strategies.
