Henry
Lichstein is a Venture Partner with
Palisades Ventures, LLC, a venture
capital management company in Los
Angeles investing in companies in
broadband and interactive services.
He also consults for technology companies
and serves on a number of Boards.
From
1970 to 2000 he was with Citibank,
most recently responsible for technology
strategy and advanced development
efforts, reporting to Chairman John
Reed. He did the early work on Citibank’s
commercial Web sites, ran Smart Card
pilots in Manhattan’s Upper
West Side and worldwide, pioneered
early Electronic Commerce activities,
spoke widely and championed E-Commerce
in China, and made a number of successful
Internet investments for Citibank.
In the 1980’s, Henry managed
technology projects and ventures,
and was an assistant to the Chairman.
In the 1970’s, he was Regional
Treasurer in Nairobi, Kenya; the Consumer
Group’s Financial Controller,
Treasurer; and Chief of Staff to the
Group Head.
Henry
obtained BS degrees in Electrical
Engineering (1965) and in Economics
(1966), and an MS in Management (1966),
all at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology.
Henry
is the Treasurer of the Summer Science
Program, Inc., was a Trustee of the
Santa Fe Institute, is on the Boards
of Lucix and Intelligent Optical Systems,
and was on the Board of Teradata (sold
to AT&T). He was Treasurer of
the New York Academy of Sciences for
ten years; and served on the Higher
Education Issues Panel of the Association
of Governing Boards of Colleges and
Universities, and on the National
Academy of Sciences’ Committee
to Study the Impact of Information
Technology on Performance of Service
Activities. He was born and raised
in Los Angeles, and he and his wife,
Janine, and son, Alexander, live in
Los Angeles.
