ESD students are conducting research at the leading edge of Engineering Systems fulfilling the mission of the division to advance theory, policy, and practice of the emerging field. The division focuses on complex, technology-based products (i.e., automobiles, airplanes, etc.) and systems (i.e., transportation, telecommunications, energy, etc.) Technology is a fundamental part of these systems, but so too are issues of management and, more generally, societal interactions.
