Devavrat
Shah, Assistant Professor of Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science,
was named co-recipient of the George
B. Dantzig Award for Best Dissertation.
Its title is "Randomization and
Heavy Traffic Theory: New Approaches
for Switch Algorithms" and it
presented novel design and analysis
techniques for scheduling algorithm
for high-speed Internet routers (e.g.
Cisco's flagship product GSR 12000
series router).
