Hastings
receives AIAAs oldest award

On
Tuesday, January 7, Daniel Hastings,
Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics
and Engineering Systems was honored
with the American Institute of Aeronautics
and Astronautics (AIAA) Losey Award
at the 41st AIAA Aerospace Sciences
meeting in Reno, NV. This is AIAA's
oldest award, which Hastings received
for "significant achievements
in space plasma interactions with
space systems and for astute leadership
in USAF aerospace programs."
Hastings,
former Chief Scientist of the U.S.
Air Force, is also Acting Director
of MITs Engineering Systems
Division and Director of ESDs
Technology and Policy Program.
