Equi
named LFM research, internship, alumni
manager

Ted
Equi has joined MIT’s Leaders
for Manufacturing Program as its research,
internship and alumni manager. He
also holds a joint appointment as
Executive Director, Materials,
Structures, and Devices Focus Center
at MIT’s MicroSystems Technology
Laboratory.
Prior
to joining MIT, Equi completed a twenty-six
year career in the semiconductor industry
working for Digital Equipment Corporation,
Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard,
and Intel. He has broad experience,
as a technical contributor and a strategic
leader in multiple disciplines --
architecture, logic, circuit, device
physics, process technologies, reliability,
and test - that comprise the value
chain in creating high performance
microprocessors.
From
March 2006 to December 2007 Equi was
on a part-time assignment with MIT’s
Microsystems Technology Laboratory
(MTL) as a visiting scientist from
Intel Massachusetts. He is a former
member of the Microsystems Industry
Group Advisory Board and an MTL alumnus.
As
Don Rosenfield, director of the LFM
fellows program, states "Ted
brings a mix of capabilities, experience,
enthusiasm, and familiarity with LFM
that will greatly enhance the program.
We are very happy to have him join
us."
