Equi named LFM research, internship, alumni manager

January 25, 2008

Ted Equi has joined MIT’s Leaders for Manufacturing Program as its research, internship and alumni manager. He also holds a joint appointment as Executive Director, Materials, Structures, and Devices Focus Center at MIT’s MicroSystems Technology Laboratory.

Prior to joining MIT, Equi completed a twenty-six year career in the semiconductor industry working for Digital Equipment Corporation, Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard, and Intel. He has broad experience, as a technical contributor and a strategic leader in multiple disciplines -- architecture, logic, circuit, device physics, process technologies, reliability, and test - that comprise the value chain in creating high performance microprocessors.

From March 2006 to December 2007 Equi was on a part-time assignment with MIT’s Microsystems Technology Laboratory (MTL) as a visiting scientist from Intel Massachusetts. He is a former member of the Microsystems Industry Group Advisory Board and an MTL alumnus.

As Don Rosenfield, director of the LFM fellows program, states "Ted brings a mix of capabilities, experience, enthusiasm, and familiarity with LFM that will greatly enhance the program. We are very happy to have him join us."
