Michael Shiffer:
Michael Shiffer is both a part-time
Associate Professor of Urban Planning
and Policy at the University of Illinois,
Chicago, and Vice President responsible
for Planning and Development at the
Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
His current area of research centers
on the use of information technologies
to better inform deliberation, decision-making,
and public debate with a focus on
spatial (geographic) information.
Prior to his work in Chicago, he was
on staff at MIT as a Principal Research
Scientist and Lecturer in the Department
of Urban Studies and Planning.
